Owner Sam Reagan
This is a 1984 Toyota pickup that Sam is turning into a real go getter, he is
building an exo roll cage from 2" square tubing and in now running 36x14.50x15 Super Swamper TSL's. He has plans to regear it, rebuild the 4 cylinder, and add additional lift to it.
Sam is also going to install cross over sterring and could use some help. These are a few pictures
of his truck now awaiting more mods. Sam could use everyone's help if they can
donate time, and or hookups on parts.
Frist set of up grades to the 84 Toyota
4x4, is New tires. From 36x14.50 TSL Radials, to 35x14.50 Boggers. In the second pic. you can see I am running a dual
shackle set up on the rear. For a little extra drop susp. I swaped out the
3in SkyJacer springs with 1990 2wd rear chevy springs. I used the "3
leaf" leaf packs. If you use the 4 leaf packs you may run into a little
stiffer ride, and not as good FLEX. But if Lift is what you are looking for, do
the chevy spring swap, with the 3leaf, and run a full lenght AAL. it will give
you close to 6, or 7 inches of lift. I am running about 4in of lift on my set
up. Pic. 3 shows I moved the spring hangers up about 8 inches, for the longer
springs. Pic. 4 shows the over all length of the Chevy springs, sorry no pic. of stock to compair. On the front of my
Toyota, I am currently doing a Waggy spring swap. These spring will also give
you a lot of flex. They have a "7 leaf" Leaf pack design. I am looking
to get close to 4-5 inches of lift out of them also. I will be running a Downey
Shackle in the front, along with the Waggy springs. The last pic. is of some CROSS OVER STEERING componats. That will be the next project after the
spring swaps are finished.. **Parts I will be needing, Steering box off a 89-93
Toyota with IFS, and Power Steering. If you have one, or know of one for sell
cheap, please let me know. Thanks!!!
